Mushikago no Cagaster / Cagaster of an Insect Cage

I mean, if you cohe mpare it to Knights of Sidonia, in terms of how they handle 2D/3D blend, it's better? I felt like it's a little less awkward looking, but still has a way to go.

- That being said, those bugs looked cute. I don't know if they were supposed to, probably not, but I found them surprisingly cute with their teeth and eyes. Do I like bugs in real life? Not really, but these guys I didn't mind.

- Alright, the unpleasant stuff. Didn't get why this show had to have attempted sexual assault. It does not come across clearly that Kidow is 17 and Ille is 14 -- Ille looks like a child, and Kidow I thought was in his late 20s, so that was gross to watch. Then, you have a flashback where basically Kidow, who definitely looks like a minor, sleeps with a woman, who is trying to cope with grief at the death of a friend. So, I could sort of rationalize it, Kidow tried to do to Ille, what he had gone through in the past. And then he couldn't go through with it.

- I really wish that had had some repercussions. But they both continued as if nothing happened, and I wish that both of them had been a bit shaken by it.

- The opening music was super cool. I liked it a lot.

- I liked Ille befriending people, and finding kids her own age. Her past was good, and I liked how Acht came into play. Ille being the bug princess was awesome.

- Was Mario meant to be a transphobic caricature? I didn't feel that Mario was in a dress was played for comic effect, and in general, was a pretty solid character. But, YMMV.

I think, 6/10 is a fair assessment of this anime, overall? It was okay.
