I wanted to like this so much more than I actually did.

- I hated the first two episodes because they were too long for me, but really, I found most of the episodes much slower and dragging, even though there truly are elements that are golden.

- In essence: plot, bad, characters, good.

- I think the problem with conmen is that, initially some conspiracy and scamming, good. But too much, and it's hard to piece everything together. And the conspiracy is what bogged it down by a lot.

- Like, I think there's some good to the disjointed narrative, because I was first confused why certain decisions were made, but then there were a lot of flashbacks to explain why they happened and acted that way, and that was fun, but on the other hand, it meant that I was confused and didn't always connect the dots and recognize everyone in the then and now. Like, I kind of didn't realize Edward and Spy Lee had a connected past? Until much later than I should have done? So, my head kind of hurt a bit, trying to figure out what was going on, and I do think a rewatch is needed, but at the same time, it's not something I want to rewatch soon. (But on the other hand, forgetting what happened is bad, and I didn't understand at what point Edward ditches Sophia, in pursuit of revenge, but I think that's why Sophia went to Spy Lee, because she wanted to figure out why he'd ditch her?) There's a lot of details that I'm sure I've overlooked, and a second viewing I think would definitely help, which is probably why people recommended watching this show as a binge-watch, in the first place.

- I can't believe how great both ships were in this show. Both with Ju-eun/Spy Lee, from their courtship full of lies, but the love was genuine; and Sophia/Edward, in which they truly loved and pined for each other, but Edward would rather pursue revenge than be with Sophia, because he was her weakness. I don't know what to tell you: both ships were wonderful and moving. But I would have liked more Ju-eun/Spy Lee stuff, honestly, because they were cute, but I wanted to invest in them more, really. Their romance was the second episode, and as chemistry as I believe the two had, I would have liked more than that TBH -- they don't interact at all for the first half of the show after that, and it's intermittent in the second half, and like, I get it, they're cute, they truly are, but having more moments together would have helped.

- IDK what to think about Ju-eun's actress. I think she was very limited in emotional ranger, HOWEVER, I did 100% believe her love for Spy Lee. I think the two actors had a very natural chemistry and I hope they get to act together again someday.

- Super loved Spy Lee though. I've always thought he's a good actor (Strongest Deliveryman, Jealousy Incarnate), and he's just SO GOOD here as the undercover agent, with action and motorbikes. I really loved his weird past with Edward, and Edward's growing unhingeness, because the actor does some fantastic 'I'm so uncomfortable with this guy' expressions. TBH, I think I also would have liked more present day stuff with them, but I did also think they had some great interaction all the same, even if it was super clear that Spy Lee did mean absolutely nothing to Edward. Edward would have cut his fingers off it meant that the job got done.

- It's hard to say that Edward/Sophia or Jae-wook/Bok-Ji were a more appealing ship, because I don't think that's true? Both ships had such good merit, that I could never really say that I liked one over the other, but I also think my state of confusion at why both ships were separated for so long did not help matters. Because like? The second these two interact, my god, there's a barrage of pain and angst and sheer sexiness charged between them, and part of it is again, because Sophia not understanding what's going on, and Edward wanting to avoid her, but so so compelled to protect her all the same.

- Like both ships are SO wonderfully constructed and parallel, that I think in the end, I just wanted a better show.

- Sophia, I think, I understood the least. From a former weather girl, to a con artist, I'm not entirely sure I understood her story that well, but I think it started because Edward saved her life, and she kind of never looked back from there? The show was slow with revealing Edward's backstory, but I think I understood that one a bit more than hers, even if it took forever to get there. But mm, I just really loved these two talking  each other a lot. Also: I really liked her friendship with Ju-eun, although, I don't know if it really ever became a friendship? They formed an alliance because it was mutually beneficial to each other, and Sophia did save her life, but I don't necessarily think they're actually good friends, but rather just: respected con artists in the field, with Ju-eun and her father going to prison, separately, as a bygone.

- Sophia totally had the best fashion sense though.

- I can't believe how much I loved Edward. I was kind of indifferent to him, to puzzling over him, and not understanding past/present, to realizing that he's a mastermind, to his outlandish clothes, and then his cruel and ruthless streak appealed to me immensely, and then his expressions when he sees Sophia again are something else. He was rage and determination and darkness, but when those two were talking, it really was just them against the world and no else exists. Like. His actor was just phenomenal, and I kind of want to see him in more stuff because I just found him really impressive -- he was a minor role in Beethoven Virus, I think? Supporting, but I don't really remember him in that at all. But this? So captivating. Also: Vivian!

- Vivian was the cutest dog, and I am gutted that I actually don't know what happened to her? I totally thought they killed her off one episode, but um, no, she appeared in the next episode, so she must have been hurt. But I still kind of want to know what happened to her???

- Uh. TBH, I must have zoned out at the part where they say that Ju-eun's 'uncle' is in love with her, and honestly? Super glad that I didn't notice that at all? I would have rather kept on believing that she really was his favorite niece, and he's just adores her and just wants her to be happy. Would have preferred that take much more than him being in love with her????

- I didn't care about GK. All of that stuff was boring. I know that the plot was tied up in that, but oh god, that bored me a lot.

- I think I got the lingo for conmen TBH? It was cool how they referred to scams as a documentary, I'm not entire certain about a kingmaker scheme, though it seems fairly evident, but it was just. Interesting, all the same.

- That ending was just cruel, IMO? I don't get how Edward survives getting shot in the head? And living?? Scamming?? (That part is cute, NGL), but for Ju-eun to be ditched again on the wedding day, a second time, just seems so harsh, because her and Spy Lee tried so hard to be together and were finally getting there. I think, it's gotta be a joke, and they just wanted it as a call-back to their first wedding, but. I would have preferred them actually having the ceremony? Honestly.

- 8/10, because there's a lot I liked, even if a lot felt bogged down by the plot. I think if I'd rewatch it, I'd rate it higher, but I might wait a bit before then TBH.
