It's been so long since I've seen a show and have been genuinely thrilled with how it resolves things and ties up loose ends -- Steven Universe wasn't it, She-Ra and the Princesses Of Power definitely wasn't it, Star Wars The Clone Wars definitely got close, but at what cost: a truncated season that shows.

Once again, I wonder how much would I have liked if I'd just watched this show from the start, but I -- I love Trollhunters, I love 3Below, and Wizards also was good! I have some quibbles, but I do wonder if the upcoming movie will answer those questions?

Like. I will say: Trollhunters probably remains the because because it got to be three (technically four!) seasons long. And I think both 3Below and Wizards would have benefited from having an extra season, and/or more episodes.

Complaints:

- I wanted evil Merlin. I didn't get it. Like I hated Merlin in Trollhunters, but he was interesting in his ruthlessness, and how he messed Jim up and stripped him of his humanity. The way they softened him was so good, and interesting, -- but it was with Douxie, not Jim. And I -- I at least wanted an apology from Merlin to Jim, and I don't feel like I got that. Not the way Jim deserved.

- I maybe wanted more followup from the events of Trollhunters/3Below. Krel barely did anything, and Eli and Aja didn't appear at all, and I really hope the movie does it in a way that really makes the three shows feel interwoven, because currently, the alien stuff is such an outlier, even though I do like them!

- I am always sad that Strickler and Barbara, do not make an appearance at all. Or Nomura.

- I could have done with the season being longer, TBH. Apparently they crammed 20 episodes worth into 10, and I just wish they'd asked for 20 episodes! I wouldn't have minded more episodes! But what we got was good, and I do think they did a good job on the whole.

Compliments:

- Douxie was such a charming lead! I like how he was peppered into the earlier works, and him as lead really works. (Sidenote: I was so bitter at the voice actor because I hated Hook on OUAT, but he's so good here! It's not his fault that Hook became so popular and sort of. Became about him.) His and Archie friendship was so cute. Douxie and Claire becoming BFFs, also cute!

- Loved how they humanized Morgana. I'm not really fond of Morgana and Arthur being siblings, for some reason, but I do think this is the best take of them, TBH? But they really made her sympathetic in this show, by being sympathetic to the trolls, and aware that Arthur is blindsided by his grief and that he's being hypocritical by using a magic sword.

- Actually liked this take on Arthur? I was so ready for an evil Arthur, and I didn't get that, but I enjoyed that Arthur wasn't as righteous as I thought he'd be, and he gave himself willingly in order to become the Green Knight.

- How Arthur made Gunmar sympathetic was really interesting? I liked Gunmar because he clearly adored his son (who wouldn't!), but now Gunmar striking back, due to Arthur's anger, a lot more understandable.

- Really liked the elemental siblings? Not sure what they are, but: the two new big bads, who want to start the world over since humans have ruined everything and it's too late for them. I liked that they were originally a trio, but the cost was too high, and Nari switches because they can't stand the suffering.

- Super loved that Lancelot looked exactly like Steve, which appeals to Steve's narcissism, so of course he loves Lancelot!

- Archie was super great! And I loved that he was also a dragon, who had the best dad, who adored him, and had the CUTEST photo of him as a baby.

- Seeing Blinky and Aaaarghhh meet was great! I liked that it wasn't smooth sailing for them from the start, because it just shows how things have changed, and they're so close now! Seeing Blinky and Dictatious being closeknit was also super cute.

- Seeing Draal again was just lovely. I've missed him. (And Angur Rot.)

- HUMAN JIM HUMAN JIM HUMAN JIM. God, I've missed him. I adored Troll!Jim, but it was such a good decision to have Jim turn back human. I'm so sad I didn't see his reunion with Barbara (and maybe Strickler).

- So glad there's a movie in the works!

Basically, super thrilled with this show. Definitely want to rewatch it sometime.
