It had me in the first half, NGL?
- IDK, I really enjoyed it, but the episodes were far too long. One hour and a half? Really? By the second half, I was really beginning to feel the drag, and also found that the drama went a tad more melodramatic than I was comfortable with TBH.
- It was a super cute and fluffy show. I did enjoy the romance of these two, but my interest in them waned after the midpoint, TBH, while I was indifferent-ish to the beta couple, but by the end, I super loved them and fell hard for them.
- THERE IS NO WAY THAT SEUNG-JUN DESERVED TO DIE. FFS. I got that it was to raise drama, to have Se-ri survive and Seung-jun die, but oh lord, I wanted him to live happily with Dan. They were so cute together.
- It doesn't help that he became my favourite character. What's not to love about a conman who falls for someone he didn't intend to at all, and saves their life even if it costs him his own? *cries*
- I actually really liked Ri-Jung's division -- they were one note, but very cute, and I liked their friendship with each other and to Se-ri.
- The scenery in North Korea was gorgeous. Yes, the state of things was unsettling, and uncomfortable, and such a contrast to the decadent and standard South Korea, but um, it was interesting to see nonetheless.
- Not entirely sure I liked the wives in North Korea though. They did have their moments, but hm. I was more interested in them in the first half, and I'm not sure the show thought they were that great by the end.
- Didn't really like Se-Ri's family. I enjoyed a bit of the tension, and her brother and their respective wives plotting against Se-Ri, and being very petty, but them becoming villains was less engaging for me TBH. I did like the complicated relationship with Se-Ri and her step-mom though, it took a while, but it felt quite worthwhile in the end.
- I enjoy cheesiness, and Se-Ri, Dan and Ri-jung meeting in Switzerland years ago and being unable to remember it (at first) was a very cute detail, TBH. It was fun seeing them figure it out -- well, Se-Ri and Ri-Jung. Dan never found out TBH.
- The first out of water comedy was great. I still think my favourite moment was a child proclaiming to his mother that he'd gotten 100 on his tests, and when she looks at them, all the scores are low, but the child then says, that all together, they add up to 100. It's just a really good moment TBH.
- I love the little bonus at the end, and the info it gives! IDK, stuff like that always makes me happy TBH.
Despite being really positive about this show, the character death and the length of the episodes make me rate this show: 8.5/10.
