Uh. Paris is pretty, the characters are not.
- I dislike Emily a lot. The show wants me to like her, but she's such -- consistently cheating on Matthieu, and Gabriel with Camille, I am. Not inclined to like this character, least of all because of this.
- Also, I'm not French, but I can't help but bristle at Emily, the American, constantly expected the French to automatically conform to her way of being. I'm not saying the French way is better, because, like, cultural values, I can't really agree with how the French did things either. Ideally, I would have liked a middle ground, but just. The fact that Emily expects French people to speak English, when she doesn't speak French is a little -- I wish she had a rudimentary learning, or had been more prepared than expecting everything to fall at her feet. I mean, really? Not doing any research about anything?
- Camille and Mindy were probably the most interesting characters, but that's not saying much. Let Camille get mad at Emily, please! I don't know why Camille likes Emily at all, but I just. I would like for her to be mad at Emily this time.
- That being said, everyone was one note. Everyone was pretty stereotypical, which is a shame because I think they could have been much more interesting than what we got. Which isn't always a complaint, but I sure didn't really care for anyone at any rate.
- The wardrobe choices were nice though. That and music choices, I think were the only good things I can say about Emily In Paris, besides the scenery.
This show should not have gotten a second season, but. Here we are. Here we are.
