This was much more zany, but no less enjoyable.
- Listen, I love the first series, because it was sweet and simple with it's emotions: watching a man grow to care for a cat. This time, we get plastic surgery, cat gods who lives on the cat mountain, body swaps. It's all very silly and it's all very charming!
- What's also great is that Madarame is A LOT more openly affectionate to Tamanojou! He's constantly petting her and thinking she's cute, which of course she is, and it's just lovely to see how soft he acts around his cat.
- I loved the new characters. I liked the landlord's daughter being the main character, and discovers that there is a cat, but eventually relents on the ban. I liked the new neighbour, even if I missed the donut seller.
- I especially liked that in last season Madarame unintentionally got himself a rival samurai, and that samurai is so determined to beat him in anything, everything, that he gets himself a cat too, and tries to outdo him in a cat competition
- I loved seeing the mother-in-law, who wants Madarame to get rid of the cat or get a divorce, but eventually comes to say that SHE will take care of the cat while Madarame is off on work. It's just fun to see Madarame get scared every once in a while.
9/10. Pure silliness, but delightful!
