I actually really liked this show! It was different, but it was nice.

- I liked the sprawlingness of it. That it took twelve years for these two to sort of get to that place where they could understand each other, but even then, they don't get together. However, I do think that in the future, they would get together. Just... not right now.

- I liked it's creativity, too! I liked how it used seasons to reflect the relationship, but also just how it was shot was nice. It starts in summer, when they're late 20s, but then flashes back to spring, when they're in their early twenties, and only date for a day; and then they're adorable for a good portion of summer, before their opposite personalities collide, and they can't quite reach each other; and then cut to the autumn, when they're in their 30s, and a lot of the gaps/flashbacks fill in what happened, and then autumn shifts into winter, and they're finally able to figure each other out a little.

- IDK, I liked that Joon Yeong was this nerdy, sensitive university student, who grows into being a very competent policeman, and then discovers that actually, he prefers to be a chef! His actor is always really great, and he definitely delivered! I liked that he was silly and childish, and knew that his pettiness got the better of him.

- Same for Yeong Jae. I liked that she was kind of... emotionally repressed, and pretty bad at expressing herself. I don't think her whimisical personality necessarily worked for me in her early 20s moments (like leaving Joon Yeong on a bus? saying 'I might be there, I might not!', she was there, but like, it's a really weird quirk to have, and I'm glad it only really occurred in the spring section). She never really got better at expressing herself, and had she voiced her concerns/explained herself (why she dumped him after a day, because she had to look after her brother since her parents just died; that she felt she couldn't live up to Joon Yeong's expectations in summer), things might have been different!

- Yeong Jae's brother, Soo Jae was awesome! I liked how he evolved throughout the show too. How he eventually became a successful novellist/screenwriter, and how he became a bit blinded by his own bitterness. I really liked his development with Joo Ran (Yeong Jae's BFF), and how they eventually fell in love, and got married in the end.

- I'm not entirely certain that Joon Yeong's family worked for me, though. I adored his parents! The vice principal and the geography teacher! Super cute, so very in love, and you could see the impact his parents had on him, and what traits he'd inherited from them. I am... not no certain that I liked the sister that much though?

- I just. I think it was meant to be comical, that the sister was kind of cold and pushy, to end up with the carefree womanizer who then became a stay at home dad, who adored her, but then was kind of... continuously manipulated by her, and she'd only give him crumbs of affection. And watching them, IDK, I felt bad for him a lot. It felt like the sister had all the power, and he had to obey her at all times. IDK, there were moments I really liked them, maybe at the start of the summer arc, and less so at the winter arc. But the moment when sister finally agrees to get married, and he lights up is super cute! And I hope they get their wedding too! So I didn't quite like the pairing, but there were moments when I did.

- I felt so bad for the second leads. I actually liked Yeong Jae's second BF, and (it was probably for time constraints/not wanting to hire another actor)  that they got married and had a kid. And I liked that this love triangle was never really a love triangle in the first place. Ho Chul expressed his feelings for her, she turned him down, and they dated/got married/divorced in between the time jump. But I would have liked some more of it really! I would have liked to have seen them date and fall in love, because them as parents was so cute, and part of me is gutted that the reason they divorce is because they're grief stricken by the death of their child. Because part of me kind of did want them to work out, they seemed like kindred spirits, and I wish they had healed together.

- I felt less bad for Se Eun, TBH. I did like her crush on Joon Yeong, and that she shouts her feelings for him in an airport, and I understood that she really did love him, but... their conversations were always kind of static? And I do think Joon Yeong loved her, it just. It wasn't enough. They could have been happy, maybe, but it just wasn't to be.

- I can't believe how much the Snakehead arc in summer made me laugh. In a bittersweet way! With Snakehead accidentally seeing Joon Yeong's proposal to Yeong Jae (after YJ had broken up with JY), and apologizing to him at the police station, and then trying to wish him well with the marriage, and it's not like JY can say 'yeah... we broke up', AND THEN, he reappears in the autumn/winter arc, having turned his life around, and asking about the marriage proposal, when JY can finally say 'we broke up', and then inform him that the OTHER girl that appeared in the sting operation (and Snakehead had injured) was his new fiance, and Snakehead is just like 'oh! i feel bad about that! bring her round so i can make a meal and apologize to her!' It was just so absurd and cartoony, that I couldn't help but laugh.

- I kind of wish that the girl who humiliated Yeong Jae in spring arc, and told everyone that she was trash and wasn't a university student, who then reappeared at the start of the summer arc, as one of Yeong Jae's clients as a fashion model, had appeared a bit more, because I don't like characters to disappear like that. I did not like her at all, and how she treated everyone terribly, but I still want her to have some growth/keep up with her, because otherwise I really am left wondering what happened to her?

- I wish Ho Chul hadn't disappeared either. I get why he'd leave after the divorce and all, but I. I liked him and wanted him to stick around.

- Also the music was super cute! I had a great time listening to the music.

- I kind of wish the story was more equal, not just in 'arcs', but also between the main couple. It was very much Joon Yeong's story, and I wish there had been times that Yeong Jae had been the one to lead the story and give insight to her own thoughts more often than we were given.

So yeah, I don't think this kdrama was for everyone, but I enjoyed the journey and the experience, For my part, though, I think it's a good 9/10.
