I don't think I'll ever forgive Disney for cancelling this series, and then giving it a truncated final season after poor reception regarding the sequel trilogy. (I don't know if this is what actually happened, but it sure feels like it.) This show really deserved to have a season seven and eight, and for characters to breathe and let their arcs go in full.

Alas.

What we got, from this rushed final season, wasn't so bad, all in all.

- I love the clones. So seeing the Bad Batch was cool. I liked that Echo was alive, and that he finds himself a new centre, and realizes that his place is with the Bad Batch now. One of the Bad Batch was pretty clearly a Solid Snake reference. He did look cool. I do think my favourite was Tech, the nerdy scientist guy. He wore glasses and was super cool.

- Rex is always the best. He probably is the clone fighter that gets the most focus over the series, and I just love how we see he's developed and grown, and to feel his conflict and suffering when Order 66 happened. Seeing him almost kill Ahsoka, and really resist that temptation, because he loves Ahsoka, was gutting, but great.

- I like that we get to see what happened to Ahsoka after she left the Jedi Council, and see how unloved the Jedi are. Did it need four episodes? I don't know, but it was nice that a lot of the show was dedicated to her. That she was a civilian. If not Rex, then Ahsoka is the true protagonist of the show, I feel. She's come such a long way from the bratty teen she was in the movie.  Yay, character development.

- Also, the references she makes to Anakin are so heartbreaking! He's her big brother! And seeing them reunite was touching, and just. Ugh. So tragic, because I know what's to come in Rebels. I didn't expect Vader to appear and find Ahsoka's lightsaber, that he personally gave back to her. My heart. Because Anakin loves Ahsoka, so much.

- I don't know if I liked the last four episodes basically happening the same time as Episode III, though. I get why they did it, but. Part of me wished that it hadn't been the case, and was only leading up to Anakin and Obiwan rescuing Palpatine from the nefarious clutches of Dooku.

- I love the showdown between Maul and Ahsoka so much. Foils! I love that these two have never even really met before now, but it was always going to happen. Maul is who Ahsoka could have been.

- Also, JFC, what a fantastic fight scene. Watching it reeked of Ray Park, and I'm so glad that they featured him in it. Ray Park really does have the best fight scenes ever.

- Sam Witwer's voice acting remains incredible. It's so haunting knowing that he's sort of sussed everything out, even if the dots don't completely connect, but then it does, and just. Yeah. It's chilling, because he's right, and everyone ignores him. And then Ahsoka releases him as an agent of chaos, and he does indeed wreck chaos.

- I loved seeing Obiwan so much. I'm so sad that he wasn't used more, but at least he got to talk to both Anakin and Ahsoka, and have him admit that the Jedi Council aren't perfect either.

- Oh Padme. I know the series never did right with the Anakin/Padme relationship, (though I do think it was great in fleshing out Padme and politics), I do like that they have secret meetings. (And that Obiwan totally knows about them.)

All in all, a good end, and it's nice that the technology has improved too. I still don't know why Rebels was animated so poorly, but at least The Clone Wars looked gorgeous from start to finish.
