Surprisingly cute!
- Again, wanted something short to blitz through. But it was nice! I liked the characters, and laughed a lot.
- I'm glad it wasn't a romance, TBH.
- Hm, okay, with Yeon Yoo Sool, my issue is that she is always the same kind of character Kim So Hyul always plays. Which isn't an issue if I liked the archtype, but I dislike it. I think she plays it well -- she's always very convincing with her angry bluster trying to fool people, and I'd say here, since the episodes were limited, three episodes, she warms and becomes a nicer person much quicker.
- Ji Soo as Jeong Cha Sik was great! Very boisterous and sweet and optimistic and good hearted. I loved him a lot, and cheer me up whenever he was on screen. He was such a force of nature, a quick study, but a little bit bumbling too. But I liked how he often made the best of a situation, and kept working hard.
- Shin Jae Ha as Seo Jin Mok was good. I don't have a lot to say about him, but I liked his rivalry turned friendship with Yoo Sool, TBH! Like, he massively regretted praying to God and punishing her, and so him trying to make amends for that (not that Yeon Yoo Sool really was aware of that issue), and I liked how he eventually decided to play piano because he himself *liked* piano.
- This was a very hopeful series! Yeon Yoo Sool thought she couldn't become a piano player after becoming blind, whereas Cha Sik's career as a pole jumper was over, but both somehow found a way to achieve their dream. In Yeon Yoo Sool's case, it was great that she was able to continue playing piano! For Cha Sik, not so much, but he found a new goal, wanting to play piano, and worked hard to attain that goal. TBH, it felt that Jin Mok was left out a little bit, but at the same time, I quite liked him as a silent witness, and noticed how they both had changed, which felt in turn affected him.
- I also super loved how much this was a parent-child focus! Both Jin Mok and Yoo Sool had overbearing parents, whereas Cha Sik's mother was supportive. That being said, Cha Sik's mother did lie to him, and I'm kind of glad that Cha Sik, who loves him mother dearly, got angry because he didn't like how self-depreciating she was! IDK, if Jin Mok's relationship with his dad improved, but I'd like to think that Yoo Sool's had, just because the mother did realize that she had gone too far, and noticed that Yoo Sool never really smiled before now.
- I mean, I didn't really believe that Cha Sik's father was a famous piano player, but!!!! I found it sweet that he wrote letters to him, and found out from him that they weren't related at all.
- That one student who lived for the drama between Jin Mok and Yoo Sool was my fave. But I also loved his friend who constantly rolled her eyes at his theatrics.
- So, overall, really uplifting!
8.5/10, because it was endearingly sweet and simple.
