Are You Human Too?

It's been a while since I've watched Kdramas! I've missed them! Netflix has so many, I just get distracted by everything all the time! But this!! What a good show!!
- First up: the character development was super great! I hated Kang Subong for the first... oh, 4 episodes or so? But then the character development kick in and seeing her go from hypocritical scrappy to protective and sweet was really good and believable. She kind of was unwatchable for me to begin with -- she wasn't a bad actress, I just couldn't stand her. Part of me suspects it was her friend that contributed to that? I never really liked Journalist Jo, so the less time she appeared, the happier I was TBQH. (I felt like Jo also improved by the end, but I think it also helps that she showed up less too.)
- Nam Shin III was a SWEETHEART. Seeing him evolve was great, and he really does have the cutest smile. I felt so much warmth and softness radiate from him. AND THEN THE REAL NAM SHIN WAS HORRIBLE, BUT ACTED SO WELL. The actor did such a good role with the dual roles, and Real Nam Shin punishing everyone because he was hurting, but I kind of understood why he went so far, all the same? I just loved people growing to genuinely care for Nam Shin III, and want him to be okay.
- Man, the grandfather was awful. (His actor was great.) But you can totally understand why everyone he raised turned out the way they did because of him, and his need to be in control and not show weakness.
- WHAT A GOOD VILLAIN! Like that actor was SO chameleon like, I could believe that he sincerely loved his daughter, but was not above using her if it helped his own means. He had SUCH a good comic edge! I haven't seen such a good villain since, oh, Pinocchio maybe? Him and his second in command were great! They were terrible people, but I had such a blast watching them scheme and murder people. They were caricatures at times, but I really loved it!
- I really grew to like his daughter too. I had such ups and downs with YeNa, but in the end, I liked that she always stuck true to herself. She went for what she wanted, she was heartless at times, but she had a decent moral compass, and if things went to far, she knew who to call.
- I had such a difficult time with Oh Laura! I liked her, then I disliked her, and then I liked her again. The middle section was hard, because sometimes it did feel like she only loved her human son, not her robot son, but I think in the end, she herself was trying to grapple with what was going on, and was having an internal struggle, because she genuinely wanted to know her human son, and her robot son was causing trouble, and she wasn't equipped to deal with that; but at the same time, she DID love her robot son, it was just a really trying predicament for her. She did not deserve her fate :(
- JI YOUNG HOON WAS SO GOOD! I've liked his actor since Stranger, where he really was a shark in blood infested water, and here he had such quiet tragedy to him, and a different tightrope to walk. I really liked his struggle to try and NOT care, but eventually admitting that he really did like Nam Shin III. I really liked that he was both a foil to Nam Shin and Jong Gil (more so for the latter, but there were times that I felt that the former applied as well). He had a really good ending.
- This show gave me such STRESS. The first half was so good, the second, not to much, but it did pick up by the end, and was all around pretty captivating. There were so many plot twists, and I had a really fun time watching it.
