Initial D: Final Stage

It's over. Finally. Took me longer than it should have done, but hey, I did it!
- I do genuinely think it's a good end that suits the series. I didn't expect the 86 to sacrifice itself, but I also think that's a very good and dramatic way for the show to end. I do think that the Trueno had become it's own character, with it's own 3D improvements over each season, and I'm really happy that Takumi knows that it's no use as a racing car, but is attached and sentimental and wants to keep the car all the same.
- I liked Inui Shinji! He was introduced in Fifth Stage, and I didn't know what to make of him, but Final Stage gives him a lot of development. He really isn't the Anti-Takumi, but he's kind of what Takumi might have been, in some ways. There's a lot of similarities between them, and a lot of differences too.
- It's a good happily ever after, TBH. Takumi has a fairly decent life, he's got a girlfriend, still has his racing friends, who were there from start to finish, which is neat, gains more friends, and just. IDK. Has a nice life. It was a rather slice of life show, and it's just. There is something pleasant about that.
- It's very cool to know that Keisuke is going to be a professional racer. It's just a nice development for him personally.
- Apparently the show brought back a couple of people -- like Mako and Sayuri, but um, it's been a while since I saw First, Second, Third Stage, so I just. Didn't remember them at all.
- I kind of liked that Takumi freaked Shinji out? IDK! Like Takumi is weird! But to be fair, Shinji is 16, and I honestly think it's a very understandable reaction from him.
- It's very sweet of Ryousuke to reveal that D stands for Dream, TBH. I did get spoiled about that, but it's no less sweet, IMO.
- I would genuinely like to know why each season Ryousuke got a new look. I mean, I do think everyone got a bit of a touch-up in each season, but everyone else was pretty easy to recognize. Whereas with Ryousuke, they gave him new hair each time? Black, brown, red, black again, blue at one point too, I think. And it's just. Why?
7/10. It's probably not something that I would rewatch, but I oddly feel satisfied with this ending in a way that I did not think I would, TBH. But I do feel oddly content and comforted that this is how the show ends, and I kind of don't think it could have delivered it better? I mean, I do find the actual racing scenes boring, but I do like the characters, since they've been through a lot, and I just. I'm satisfied by how it ends. Because it ends very nicely IMO.
