 Predictable, boring.

I really feel like it got fatigued by the premise of the show, TBH. I don't think it's me, I feel like the first season was very excited about cooking and being competitive, and then gradually, it's just. It's slowly lost interest.

- It's pretty obvious that Souma and co were going to win in the end, so there were no stakes when people lost. It's also really weird that there wasn't much animation going on, most of the time it was just panning -- which is something I rarely notice, tbh, but here it was virtually every shot.

- TBH, it felt like the only character who has had good development was Erina. From initially being standoffish, her personality mellowed in s3-4, so there's that.

- Honestly, basically no one except Soma and Erina get much to do, they're all just window dressing. As much as I like Alice/Ryou/Akira, they just: they're just window dressing saying the bare minimum. I have no idea who the majority of the Polaris Dorms are, they don't improve or change on the whole, they just follow Souma because he's the protagonist, TBH.

- I will say I liked Tadakoro Megumi's being mentored by Shinomura. I kind of like them as a mentor-pair, not shipping but, at least, I like their similarities and differences. (And also the fact that I feel like Shinomura read the same manga Megumi had, so when she said Coach, he knew *exactly* what she was referring to. This is unproven, but, I want it to be true, in comparison to the bewilderment he expressed when Soma called him sensei.)

- Erina's speciality was weird. I just. It was underwhelming to me?

- It's really hard to care about the Elite. I know I've said this a lot, but because I feel like we really don't get to know much about the Elite anyway, even if they're quirky, they're interchangeable? I like Eizen because I like dirty rotten cheats, and I enjoy the voicework of his actor the most, but on the whole, it's just: pretty generic for me.

- I enjoy Azami, I don't get how his gifting working, in that he makes other people lose their clothes, but I guess the echo of people in the arena losing their clothes because of him is... interesting? I found it interesting that he maintained that he was acting in everyone's best interests, but he feels miserable now that he's lost -- but Gin and Souma's dad console him anyway.

- IDK how much I buy that final episode of the season. I guess it's good that it's a new year, and Souma is now in the first seat, but now what? I just feel underwhelmed I guess, but that's been true since last season, TBH.

6/10. Only one more season to go, might as well watch it.
